Herbert Eugene Bowen, 72, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 6, 2015 at his home. Born in Hartford on October 21, 1943, he was the son of the late Forrest E. and Irene (Sturmer) Bowen. He was a lifelong Berlin resident and graduated from Berlin High School. Mr. Bowen was employed by Corbin Russwin for 35 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Marines. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox, the Giants and UCONN Basketball. He enjoyed spending time with family and playing “Tock” with his nieces and nephews. His special smile and love of a lively discussion will be missed at family get-togethers. He is survived by his brother Forrest Bowen and his wife Mary, three nieces and three nephews. He is also survived by his special friend Donna and her granddaughters. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law John and Marilyn Bowen. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at West Lane Cemetery, High Road, Berlin, CT. There are no calling hours. The John J.
