Charles was born on Feb.29, 1924 in Fall River, Mass., where his loving aunt Mary Brazao raised him. He worked for Suzio Construction Company in Meriden for 34 years, driving a company truck and maintaining the grounds at the quarry and Suzio home, forming a lifelong friendship before retiring in 1985. Charles acquired all that he pursued through high expectations and incredible work ethic, striving for perfection in all of his endeavors. For his children’s weddings, he attended a class on the art of cake decorating, and each cake he made was more magnificent than the last. His motto for everything was, “Practice, practice, practice.” He loved ceramics, earning more than 300 molds from a friend’s studio by pouring Greenware. Charles even mastered classical guitar, flawlessly playing such difficult pieces as Leyenda and Malagueña. Charles was a life member of the Society of American Magician Assemblies #15 and #127, Order of Merlin, International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring #59, and MIMC gold star member of the Magic Circle in London, the premier organization in the world for magicians. MIMC is awarded by the president to members deserving special recognition. There never can be more than 300 MIMCS at one time and only a few are awarded a gold star, which is reserved for the finest performers such as Lance Burton and Siegfried and Roy. Charles also belonged to the Members of the Magic Collectors Association, Members of the New England Magic Collectors Association and the New Magicians Club. He is survived by two daughters, Lesley Lusteg and her husband Walt, Jeanne Cosenza and her husband Christopher, a son, Charles D.
