Candice R.L Mack, 58, wife of Thomas P. Mack, daughter-in-law of Mary Lou Mack and the late James Mack, passed away on January 21, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Meriden on November 4, 1955, the daughter of the late Verton William and Elizabeth Lenfest, she had resided in Meriden all her life. She was a graduate of Maloney High School and Mattutuck Community College. Mrs. Mack was employed by the Department of Children and Families as a nurse for twenty years.
Candice was a former member of the board for the Augusta Cultural Center. She loved the sunrises, sunsets and the starry nights at her cottage at Chalker Beach in Old Saybrook. She especially enjoyed hosting parties and being surrounded by family and friends. She will be remembered for her creativity, and for being a loving Grandmother, Mother, Wife, and friend.
Besides her husband Thomas, Candice is survived by a son, Ryan Mack and his wife Rebecca of Meriden; two daughters, Kimberly Doerfler and her husband Scott of Southington, and Tomisyn Sylvester and her husband Chad of Meriden; six grandchildren, Thomas Doerfler, Carrigan Mack, Victoria Doerfler, Brayden Mack, and Jacob and Jack Sylvester. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends, family and the Betties.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service to be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11am, at the First Congregational Church, 62 Colony, Meriden, with Reverend Bruce Miller officiating. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Friday January 24th, from 4 to 8pm. SHELTON DOMENIC CANNATELLI

Domenic Cannatelli died suddenly on Friday, January 24, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer Geignetter Cannatelli. Born in Meriden, CT on January 3, 1969, Domenic graduated from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, Wilcox Tech in Meriden, and the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He was a Vice President at Yankee Aluminum, for over twenty years. Domenic was the beloved son of Rafffaela Lina Cannatelli and the late Joseph P. Cannatelli, Jr., and the son-in-law of Carolyn and George Geignetter.
Domenic was the beloved brother of Edward Cannetelli and his wife Robbyn of Florida, the grandson of Maria Luisa Camarda of CT, nephew of frank Cannatelli of CT, Frank and Joyce Camarda of Florida and Lisa Camarda of Florida, and brother-in-law of Dawn Cannatelli of CT. Brother-in-law of Janine Roberto Delledonnes, and Kevin and Dawn Geignetter. He has many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Dom leaves his dog Bebe who was always by his side.
Domenic was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Domenico Camarda, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Vivian Cannatelli, uncles Edward Camarda, Nick Camarda and James Cannatelli. Also predeceased by grandparents George and Rose Geignetter and Mary and James Frouge.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 12 noon at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Domenic’s family will receive family and friends at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm.
Domenic and Jennifer were joyfully anticipating the arrival of their first child, Luca, a son due in April. Charles Henry Tarver of Meriden passed away Sunday, January 26 at the age of 90. Charles was born in Alcester, England, January 23, 1924. Before immigrating to the United States, Charles was a toolmaker at BSA Broach in Redditch, England. Upon his arrival in America he worked with his four sons to create a successful tool making business. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Peggy Isobel Tarver with whom he was married for 59 wonderful years. He was the proud father of four sons, Ivor and his wife Linda of Marlborough, Robert and his wife Patricia of Kensington, Malcolm and his wife Martha of Keene, New Hampshire, and Stephen and his wife Joanne of Hebron and an uncle to Michael Faulkner and his wife Sheila of Meriden. An avid Boston Sports fan, Charles enjoyed rooting for the Bruins and the Red Sox. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, including his 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Charlie, a true gentleman, was loved by all who met him. He will be greatly missed.

Gregory Edward Polanski, 52, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 surrounded by his beloved wife Penny and his son Jake. Greg was born September 5, 1961 in Hartford CT., son of Jacqueline Polanski of Cheshire and the late Edward Polanski of Wallingford, CT. He graduated in 1979 from Cheshire High school, attended Norwich University and graduated from Central CT State University.
Greg served the Meriden Fire department for 30 years rising to the rank of Lieutenant. He was past president of the Meriden Firefighters International Association of Firefighters, Local 1148. Former president of the Meriden Coalition of Municipal Employees, trustee , Uniformed Professional Firefighters of CT, treasurer Meriden Democratic Town Committee and member of the Healthcare for Everyone Leadership Board. He gave time and energy to local charities.
His Goal in life was to help people. An expert in the building trades, Greg enjoyed helping countless friends and family with their building and home improvement projects. Greg was an expert skier leading his friends and his son Jake on many backcountry adventures. He was the ultimate giver of love and friendship
Besides his wife and son, Greg is survived by his brother Tom Polanski and his wife Mindy, nephew Bryan and niece Kathryn of Barrington, NH.
Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden is entrusted with the arrangements. Ezio Parisi, 90, passed away Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. He was born to Eugene and Antoinetta Parisi on September 2nd, 1923 and was a life-long resident of Meriden. Ezio was a veteran of World War II having served overseas in the European Theater of Operations with Company “B”, 4th Tank Battalion in Italy. He was employed by International Silver and the US Postal Service. Ezio was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather; a caring person who brought much joy to family and friends. He is predeceased by his wife, Julie. Ezio leaves behind his daughter Vicki Varona of Long Beach, California, his daughter and son-in-law Toni and Mohammed Asheh of Meriden, two grandchildren, Angelo and Ramzi, his sister Nancy Parisi of Meriden and his brother Mario Parisi of Wallingford as well as many nieces and nephews. Ezio will be missed by his best friend of over 70 years, Jim Hecht of Southington, as well as his caregiver Sandy, whom he shared many ice-cream sundaes with. His family will receive relatives and friends in the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8th at 88 East Main St, Meriden from 9 until 11am. Burial will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT.

Meriden THEODORE J. TRELLA Theodore John Trella, 96, died on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Westfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Meriden. Born March 29, 1917 in Meriden CT., he was the son of the late Peter J. and Nelle (Noga) Trella. Ted graduated from St. Stanislaus School and attended Wilcox Technical School. He was employed by and retired from Airpax in Cheshire. He was a person that liked working with his hands. This included gardening and fixing his favorite tractor and mowers. During World War II, 1944, he was a seaman in the U.S. Merchant Marines. His ship delivered supplies to the Philippines in support of the war effort. Ted was predeceased by his loving wife, Rhea (Benoit) Trella, his sons Gary and Dennis and a granddaughter, Marcy Marie Trella. He is survived by his sons David of Meriden, Richard and his wife Joanne of Florida and daughter-in-law, Margaret of Meriden. He leaves three grandchildren, Jennifer D’Euegenio of Southington, Maria Draus of Clinton and Michael Trella of Meriden and two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Gianna D’Eugenio of Southington. Ted is survived by two brothers, Ben Trella of Meriden, Peter Trella of Southington and sister Emily Bryda of Middlefield. He was predeceased by brothers, Casimer, Edward, Stanley, Henry and Joseph Trella and two sisters, Helen Tone and Stacia Murphy. A special thanks to Ted’s friend Edna Barrett for all of her love and caring. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:30 am from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden and at 11am at St. Joseph Church 22 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Laurent Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning prior to the Mass from 9 to 10:30 am. Inez J. (Mucci) Arsenault, 81, passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side on February 7 2014. She was the beloved wife of Alfred Arsenault and daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Mucci. A lifelong resident of Meriden, she worked as a waitress at several area restaurants, and at New Britain Candy and Tobacco. In particular, she enjoyed all her friends at the Bagel Connection from where she retired. She was a lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Mt Carmel. In addition to her parents, Inez was predeceased by her sister Angie (Mucci) Novicelli and brother Thomas Mucci. She is survived by her husband, Fred of Meriden; her son John (Paula) Arsenault of Swansea, IL; son Dennis Arsenault of Meriden, CT; daughter Deb Arsenault of Meriden, CT, and daughter Lisa (Tom) Caulfield of Northport, NY. Also, she leaves behind sisters Grace Krystock and Gloria Mozzicato both of Meriden, Joe Mucci (Jenny) of Middletown, and very good childhood friend, Evelyn Sadecki, of Meriden. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Inez cherished her family and really loved cooking for them. No one ever left hungry. She also enjoyed her Thursday breakfast meeting group and talking with people regardless of how well she knew them. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden. David Masterson

David R. Masterson, 59, died on February 7, 2014 at Masonic Health Care Hospice Unit in Wallingford, after a courageous year-long struggle with cancer. Born in Meriden, on January 20, 1955, David was the son of John S. Masterson and the late Constance G. Masterson. He graduated from Platt High School in 1973 and resided in Cheshire. Mr. Masterson was employed by Tomasetti Distributors for over 30 years until 2007, when he relocated to sunny California to be closer to his sons. He was an avid fisherman where he never let the big one get away. He also enjoyed restoring and collecting antique radios. David is survived by two sons; Jon Masterson and his wife Claire, and Chris Masterson; two granddaughters Riley and Lucy Masterson; two sisters Kelley Moore and her husband Sean, and Lisa Laughlin and her husband Shawn. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a prayer service at 3pm on Saturday February 15th at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may visit the funeral home prior to the service from 12 to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Franciscan Home and Hospice Care, 267 Finch Ave, Meriden CT 06451. The Masterson Family would like to extend much appreciation to Dr. G. Fumo and the Oncology Staff from MidState Medical Center for all their care and support given to David since December 2012.

June Gudelski, 69, wife of the late James L. Gudelski, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Masonic Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. Born in New Haven on June 25, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James and Rita (Tremblay) McEvoy. She had resided in Meriden for most of her life, attended Maloney High School and graduated from Briarwood College. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church and was a Eucharistic Minister. June was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her loving family. June and James always looked forward to their trips and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Richard Gudelski of Hartford and Michael Gudelski and his wife Donna of Meriden; three grandchildren, Marisa Marquardt, Morgan Gudelski and Joshua Gudelski, and a sister, Maureen Girard and her husband Jack of Hebron. She is also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in law and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 9:30 from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden and at 10 am at St. Laurent Church, 121 Camp Street, Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the Mass on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 am.
