Stephen Zimmer, 51, husband of Christine Mason, died on April 14, 2016 in the comfort of his home after a long illness. His bravery and strength inspired us all. Born in Meriden on December 8, 1964, he was the son of Ann Marie Dorsey Zimmer Dorflinger and the late Richard Zimmer. Stephen resided in Moodus and was known to be a meticulous, hard worker and a loyal friend. He loved to fish, play golf and cook for friends and family. Stephen loved fine wines, was an inventor and also served with the U.S. Army Reserve. Besides his wife Christine, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Janet Mason, father-in-law, Jeff Mason, sister-in-law, Lisa Beltchev, Christine’s grandmother, Evelyn Mason, a brother, Rick Zimmer and his wife Ida and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 10:30 am at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 19th from 4 to 7 pm. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W.
