Semone V. Curry, 91, wife of the late John J. Curry, Jr., died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Regency House in Wallingford. Born in Meriden on December 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Octavio and Frances Valenti. She had resided in Meriden for most of her life and attended St. Laurent School. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Semone was an avid gardener and loved the NY Yankees, UCONN Men and Women Basketball Teams. She is survived by a daughter, Joanne Curry of Meriden, two sons, John Curry III of Meriden and Kevin Curry and his wife Liza of Feeding Hills, MA and three grandsons, Jeffrey and Michael Gifford of Meriden and Patrick Curry of Feeding Hills, MA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including her favorite nephew David Cooper of Wallingford. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Lois Spears, her closest friend, Jan Catrole and her beloved cat, Snippy. She was predeceased by three sisters, Ida Brunell, Sylvia Cooper and Ivette Valenti, a brother Otto Valenti, first cousin Frank Peracchio and her beloved niece Kathleen Cooper Savage. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden on Thursday, February 4th from 4 to 7 pm. Should friends desire, contributions on her memory may be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
