Kathleen Lombardi

Kathleen A. Lombardi, 80, wife of the late Gerald Lombardi, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at Coccomo Healthcare. Kathleen was born on April 21, 1935 in Edmunds, Maine, daughter of the late Theodore and Sarah (Farley) Dudley. After graduating from Machias High School, she moved to the Meriden/Wallingford area. She was employed by Times Wire & Cable for many years, retiring in 1989. Kathleen was a wonderful athlete and avid golfer, she was a member of the Hunter Womens Golf Club, winning the club championship one year. She continued to pursue her love of golf in North Port, FL where she spent the winter for over twenty-five years, establishing a great community of friends there who will miss her greatly. Kathleen remained active during her retirement, working at Kohl’s for a number of years, traveling cross-country with her sister-in-law, Camille, visiting her daughter and granddaughters in Texas, and an active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Meriden, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. Cooking wonderful meals for her family and walking the dog around the neighborhood were some of the “ordinary” activities that gave her great pleasure. Her most cherished moment of everyday was greeting her grandsons after school with a hug and sage advice. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnies Seal and her husband Gene of Poteet, TX; stepson, Robert Lombardi and daughter-in-law Karen of Meriden, with whom she lived since 1989; granddaughter, Brittney Burns and her husband Jeremy of Lawton, OK, granddaughter, Heather Moore of Poteet, TX, grandson, Mark Lombardi of Meriden, grandson, Andrew Lombardi of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Dudley and his wife Rose of Wallingford, her brother, Merle Dudley of Whitneyville, ME, her sister, Irene Asby of Portland, ME, faithful friend Gail Panciera of Meriden and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Leonard of Canaan, CT and a step-son, Gerald Lombardi of New York, NY. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 20 Catlin Street, Meriden. Entombment will be in St. Andrews Episcopal Church Columbarium. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Kathleen’s family would like to thank the nurses and aides on the rehab wing of Coccomo Health Care for their compassionate care during her stay there.
