Rita Ragone Zolnik, 91, wife of the late Theodore Zolnik passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Meriden on May 24, 1924, a daughter to the late Joseph and Caroline Cerrato Ragone. Mrs. Zolnik was employed by the Veterans Administration as an Administrative Assistant for many years. Auntie Rita will be remembered for her love of life, her family, friends and her great caring for all animals. We will miss you and that beautiful smile. She is survived by her niece, Patricia Norton of Bristol; her great nieces, Renee Carle and her husband Gary and their son Brenden and Alison Ahlquist and her husband Kevin and their sons Alex and Joshua and her sister-in-law, Elsie Ragone. She is also survived by four nieces, Carolyn Sarcia, Diane Kramer, Mary Ann Peruta and Kathleen Hettrick and six nephews, Richard Ragone, James Griffin, Jr., Michael Griffin, Gerald Griffin, Joseph Ricci and John Zolnik Jr. Rita was predeceased by her four sisters, Marguerite Hillman, Josephine Burmester, Ann Ricci and Inez Zolnik and her brother, Richard Ragone. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 10am in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
