Gertrude Thibault, 88, wife of the late Joseph Thibault passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Residence after a lengthy illness. Born in St. Leonard, N.B. Canada on January 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Claire Gauvin. She had resided in Meriden, CT since 1962. Gertrude graduated from St. Leonard High School in N.B. Canada. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church. Gertrude was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann Society, Army of Mary and the Catholic Women Council. She is survived by three daughters, Estelle Emond (Reginald) of FL, Gisèle Tillbrook (Gary) of Meriden and Marie Dumas (Bruce) of Meriden; three sons, Guildo Thibault (Theresa) of Meriden, Gilles Thibault (Richard) of Hamden and Jean-Marc Thibault (Sherry) of CA; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita Gregory and three brothers, Bertin Gauvin, Gene Gauvin and Armand Gauvin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, three sisters and four brothers. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at 9:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Laurent Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Family and friends may call prior to the service from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Laurent Church, 121 Camp Street, Meriden, CT 06450
