Eugene E. Gamble, 81 of Meriden, died on Tuesday November 10, 2015 at Coccomo Health Center. Born in Cheshire, he was the son of the late Richard and Eugenia Kiener Gamble. Gene was a bus driver for Rose Bus Service, a driver for AGC and was a security guard for Carabetta. He was a member of Masonic Center Lodge #97 for 45 years and was a past Master in 1980. Gene was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite, a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and a DeMolay Dad at Center Lodge. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bowling, square dancing, playing cards, nurturing plants, cooking and had a humorous outlook on life that he shared with his family. Gene traveled throughout the country in his earlier years. He leaves his two sisters, Melissa “Helen” Lawrence and Margarite Howard, both of Meriden and many nieces and nephews. Gene was predeceased by a sister and two brothers, Mary Ann Stebbins and Richard and John Gamble. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Coccomo Health Care, especially Adda, for all the compassionate care they bestowed to him. A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 21st at 10:30 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St. Meriden. Burial will be private. In lieu of flower memorial donation may be made to Kids Wish Network at kidswishnetwork.org or a charity of one’s choice.
