Vincent J. Ferry of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Garden City, NY and Meriden, CT passed away at the age of 90 on March 2, 2015. Vin was born on December 4, 1924 to Anna (nee Donahoe) and Thomas L. Ferry Sr. in Meriden, CT. He was the devoted husband of Beatrice Bremer (nee Shea) for 15 years and was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia (nee O’Connor) of 48 years. He was a loving father to three sons, Vincent J. Ferry, Jr. of Garden City, NY, Mark W. Ferry of Denver, CO and Paul E. (Carrie Ann) Ferry of Minneapolis, MN, grandfather to four grandsons, Matthew, Christopher, Michael and Connor Ferry, stepfather to Sheila, Patrick and Paul Bremer, step-grandfather to Michela, Julianna and Nicoletta Summa. Vincent was predeceased by siblings John J. Ferry, Thomas L. Ferry Jr. and Maureen Ferry Slattery and is survived by siblings Anne Jane (Thomas) Delaney and William E. (Jacqueline) Ferry and many loving nieces and nephews. Vin was proud of his faith and Irish heritage. He was a retired NY State employee, enjoyed jazz and playing his sax and clarinet in bands throughout his life. He was a graduate of Georgetown Preparatory School, class of 1942, a PROUD graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, class of 1946 and a World War II Navy Veteran, stationed in Long Beach, CA. After the war, Vin was a member of the Catholic War Veterans in Meriden, CT. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Monday, March 9th at 10 am at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center Street, Meriden, CT. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT on Sunday March 8th from 4 – 7 pm.
