Alfred (Fred) Edgar Arsenault, 86, passed away peacefully at his home with family at his side on Friday, October 17, 2014. Fred was the beloved husband of Inez J. (Mucci) Arsenault who passed away earlier this year. His family thinks Fred missed her and left this world happy to join her again. Born July 6, 1928, in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Antoine and Clarina (Levesque) Arsenault. He was raised in New Britain, but spent most of his life in Meriden. Fred served in the Air Force during the Korean War and returned to Meriden where he worked as a tool and die maker. He owned several tool and die shops over the years and worked in several other tool and die shops around the area. He was renowned for his expert skills in the trade and coached several other tool and die makers during his lifetime. Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing and was often noted for being the luckiest fisherman in the boat. He was a lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. He is survived by his son John (Paula) Arsenault of Swansea, IL; son Dennis Arsenault of Meriden, CT; daughter Deb Arsenault of Meriden, CT, and daughter Lisa (Tom) Caulfield of Northport, NY. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also, he leaves behind sisters-in-law Grace Krystock and Gloria Mozzicato both of Meriden, and brother-in-law Joe Mucci (Jenny) of Middletown. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Claire Ciesielski, and brothers Roger Arsenault and Edward Arsenault. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, on Tuesday, Oct. 21st from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
