Antoinette M. Zitko, 82, wife of the late William Zitko, died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in Salem, CT on December 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Maria (Ruffini) Di Pasquale. She had resided in Meriden for most of her life and graduated from Meriden High School. Mrs. Zitko was employed by the State of Connecticut for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Antoinette was a quilter for many years. She is survived by two sisters, Helen Hedberg of Southington and Carmela Kenney of Meriden, two brothers, Vincent DiPasquale (Carole) of Deer Park, NY and Thomas (Mary-Ellen) DiPasquale of Wallingford and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, David Zitko, three sisters, Katherine Nenninger, Nancy Tarnowski and Rose Peruta and three brothers, Alexander, Robert and Frank DiPasquale. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:30 am from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden and at 11 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center Street, Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the Mass from 9 to 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care, 267 Finch Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950.
