MERIDEN MARK BLASÉ ROSSETTI

Mark Blasé Rossetti of Meriden, Connecticut passed away at home surrounded by his loving family December 10th, 2013.
Mark ‘s life began January 29th, 1954 in Bristol, Connecticut. He was the beloved son of the late Louis and Christine Rossetti. He resided in Bristol for many years and graduated from St. Paul High School. Mark attended Hartford State Technical College, graduating with a degree in civil engineering.
After working many years as a project manager in heavy highway construction, Mr. Rossetti was hired as a civil engineer for the City of New Britain in the Public Works Department, leaving only after losing a courageous battle with cancer. As one of his colleagues said, “Mark’s courage and determination are inspirational. “ For several years, Mark volunteered for “Rebuilding New Britain Together”, a program helping others stay in their homes.

Mr. Rossetti was a man who enjoyed all seasons. No matter what time of year, he could be found walking the beach, hiking in the woods, and spending time with his dogs, Rex and Sienna. Anyone who knows Mark would say he enjoyed projects outdoors and took great pride in accomplishing hard work around his home. He even had fun running the snow blower in winter, in his yellow slicker and hat, of course. He spent summers on Block Island for many years and enjoyed exploring Rhode Island and the Cape Cod seashore with his family.

Mr. Rossetti resided with his companion, Cynthia Johnson, in Meriden. He leaves his beloved daughters, Jennifer Rossetti Wilkens and her husband, Craig from Wisconsin. Since Craig and Jennifer are expecting their first child, Mark was excited about his first grand- child. He leaves his daughter Sara Rossetti of Southington his sister, Beth Miranda and her husband Edgar and their children, Paige, Blake, and Cole. He also leaves his aunt, Margaret Kuchka of Bristol.
His extended family, Cynthia’s children, Marc, the late Julie Johnson, Jens and Lee Ann Johnson. As well as Cynthia’s grandchildren, Taylor, Allison, Daniel and Nicholas, will miss him.

Mark’s family wishes to extend appreciation to Mid State Medical Center Oncology and special gratitude to the Franciscan Hospice Family for their care and concern during his illness.

Calling hours will be December 13, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service immediately following at 7:00 pm. Burial will be private. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the Franciscan Hospice Family, 267 Finch Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451.
