Marion T. Zajac, 92, of Meriden, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Midstate Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Ferdinand A. Zajac. Marion was born in Winthrop, Maine on March 22, 1923, daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Tully. She resided in Meriden and retired from Medicare. She enjoyed spending summers in Cape Cod with her granddaughters and her passion was knitting and crocheting gifts for family and friends. She knitted thousands of hats over the years for the Midstate Cancer Center. Family and friends referred to Marion as an energizer bunny. She was an avid fan of UCONN Basketball and the Red Sox. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kos and her husband Raymond of Wallingford, and her son Thomas Zajac of Meriden. She was a loving grandmother to Samantha Zajac, Kaitlyn Kos, Christine Rall and her husband Keith and great grandmother to Taylor Rall. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Jones of Maine, a caring brother-in-law, John Zajac and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers. Marion recently moved to the Bradley Home in Meriden where she was welcomed with open arms by staff and residents. She will miss the new friends that she made there. Her family would like to thank Dr. Neil Scollan and his staff for their compassion and kindness to Marion. Also, a special thanks to the nursing staff at Midstate Medical Center and Coccomo Rehab Center. The funeral will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 9:15 am from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT and at 10 am at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 17th from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Bradley Home, 320 Colony Street, Meriden, CT 06451.
