Nancy L. (Sattler) Sackman, 83, wife of the late William Sackman Jr., died on March 2, 2016 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT after a short battle with leukemia. Born in Meriden, CT on April 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Clarence Conreaux and Pauline Nichodemski Conreaux. She resided in South Meriden for 61 years and then Cheshire for 22 years. Nancy graduated from Central Connecticut State College with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters of Art. Mrs. Sackman was employed by the Meriden Board of Education as a long-time school teacher at Hanover Elementary School in South Meriden where she touched the lives of thousands of students until her retirement in June 1994. She was for many years a parishioner of Holy Angels Church in South Meriden. Nancy was a member of the Farms Country Club of Wallingford, CT, PIMMS, a project to increase mastery of mathematics & science at Wesleyan University and Delta Kappa Gamma National Society (DKG). She is survived by her daughter Kelly (Sattler) Quinlan and her husband Peter Quinlan; her two sons, Christopher Sattler and his wife Mary (Zaleski) Sattler and Michael Sattler; her step-daughter Ellen Sackman; two step-sons, Steven Sackman and his wife Stephanie (Dugan) Sackman and William Sackman, III; five grandchildren, Bailey Quinlan and Yuta Kanai, Michaela Quinlan, Jessie Sattler and Carley Sattler; eight step-grandchildren, Erin (Jackson) and Joseph Trawick-Smith, Jeanne-Marie Jackson and Leon Dekock, Sheridan Sackman, McKenna Sackman, Emily (Sackman) and Carl Conrad; four nieces, Pamela Chausse-Bauch, Nancy (Chausse) Feola, Carol (Chausse) Provost and Kathy (Chausse) Huntington; two nephews, Thomas Chausse and William Chausse. She was predeceased by her second husband William Sackman, Jr., her first husband Ernest “Zeke” Sattler and her sister Janet (Conreaux) Chausse. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial Mass to be held on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at 11:30 am at Saint Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, CT.
