Phyllis Pyskaty, 82, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Southington Care Center. Born on January 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Angela Babicz and Stanley Pyskaty of Meriden. Educated at St. Stanislaus School and Meriden High School, she worked as a librarian for the Curtis Memorial/Meriden Public Library for her entire professional life. She was a communicant of Saint Stanislaus Church. Phyllis was an intelligent and sensitive person who was devoted to her extended family and dedicated to her work. She was a selfless and loving caregiver to her father in his later years while working full time. She loved a stylish outfit and was able to enjoy some travel in her retirement. Phyllis is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Rose Mesek, Stephanie Sobieski, Carolyn Wysocki, Andrew, Stanley and Peter Zapal. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 and at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 22nd from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association 200 Executive Boulevard Suite 4B Southington, CT 06489.
