John L. Vezina, 62, husband of Joan (Record) Vezina, was beamed up to Heaven on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from his home. Born in Germany on June 15, 1953, he had resided in numerous states while serving with the US Navy residing in Waterbury for the last eighteen years. John was employed by UTC Aerospace. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Navy. John was a huge Star Trek fan and he loved flying his remote control drones. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kristin Szetela and her husband Andrew of Wallingford and Missy Jannetto and her husband Christian of Farmington, and the loves of his life, his five grandchildren, Jes, Jon, Emily, Reilly and Alexzander. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11 am at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 to 11 prior to the service.
