MERIDEN HELEN C. MYSLING Helen C. Mysling, 96, wife of the late John J. Mysling, died on Saturday. July 18, 201 at the Westfield Care and Rehab Center after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on September 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Caroline (Grockmal) Turek. She resided in Meriden for her entire life, graduated from St. Stanislaus School and attended Meriden High School. Mrs. Mysling was employed by the International Silver Company for a number of years, retiring to become a full time homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the St. Stanislaus Ladies Guild. Helen had a love for the outdoors, whether it was gardening, watching birds at her birdfeeder, swimming, ice skating, fishing (including ice fishing during the winter months) or picnicking with family that also included tubing on the Farmington River. She is survived by one son, Donald and his wife Jennifer (Hockla) Mysling; three sisters; Joan Gallucci, Mary Ladd and Elizabeth Turek; one brother, Theodore Turek and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Stasia Baztura, Ann Okolotowicz and Genevieve Turek; one brother, Charles Turek and close friends and neighbors, Edward and Betti-Ann Papandrea. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11 am at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT with Reverend Edward Ziemnicki officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 9 to 11 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron Street, Meriden, CT 06450. Helen’s family would like to express their appreciation to the Staff at the Westfield Care and Rehab Center (Wing 400) for their compassionate care shown to Helen during her several years of residency.
