Clik here to view.Bette-Jane “BJ” Barillaro Burnham, 78, wife of Douglas F. Burnham, died on February 2, 2015 in Ft. Myers, FL surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born November 21, 1936 in Meriden, Connecticut, Bette-Jane was the daughter of the late Dominic and Frances Barillaro and sister of the late Warren Barillaro and Edward Barillaro, and his wife, Barbara (Jones) Barillaro. She was raised in Meriden and attended Meriden High School (1954) and Laurel Business College (1956). She met her husband while a student at Meriden High School. They were married in 1957 and together raised a family of four children in Meriden. BJ had a great love for sports – she was an avid and acclaimed golfer and tennis player. She enjoyed spending summers at Lake Memphremagog in Vermont where they had a summer home. She also spent time during the winter in Ft. Myers, Florida where she loved time on the beach, playing golf and visiting with her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid reader and a wonderful cook. BJ’s true love was her children and her grandchildren and most recently her great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her, but her loving, generous and caring spirit will live on in our hearts forever. She is survived by her loving children, Douglas E. Burnham and his wife, Cindy of Ft. Myers, Florida, Cynthia Moylan and her husband, Garrett of Derby, Vermont, Glen Burnham and his wife, Lynne Schiller-Burnham of Meriden, Connecticut, and Andrew Burnham, and his wife, Karen of Tolsona, Alaska; seven grandchildren, Kristen Lande, Rachel Frattarelli, Heather Moylan, Ashley Versteeg and Maxwell, Quincey and Jakob Burnham; six great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-laws, Mary-Ellen Rosenberry and the late, Dale Rosenberry and Susan Burnham Catalano and the late, Peter Catalano; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave. Meriden, CT. Everyone is asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the John J Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in BJ’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans Charity 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
