Mae T. Carabetta, 82, beloved wife of 60 years of John J. Carabetta, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. Born in Aneome, Canada on May 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Irene (Cormier) Cormier. Mrs. Carabetta owned and operated the Dairy Queen on West Main St. She was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church. She loved to keep active, ran and competed in road races, enjoyed going to casinos, loved music and spending time with her grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children; John A Carabetta and his wife Kathy of Berlin, Sharon Kinard and her husband Brian of Southington, Linda Parks and her husband Ralph of Southington and Mark Carabetta and his wife Beth of Meriden, ten grandchildren; John M. and Jason Carabetta, Allison LeBouthillier and her husband Keith, Sara Hall and her husband Josh, Meghan and MacKenzie Parks, Grace, Alexis and Luke Carabetta and one great granddaughter, Sophia Hall. She is also survived by five sisters; Doris Beland of Meriden, Beatrice Bilodeau of NC., Alice Waldroup of MA., Laura Bova and her husband Joseph of MA and Jeanette Albert and her husband Frank of NH and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home and at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, February 6th from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. The family would like to thank Jane Tomaselli and the staff of Ramage 3 for the outstanding care given to Mae.
