Gloria (Sanchez) Velazquez, 63, beloved wife of Jose E. Velazquez, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on August 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Natalio and Telefora (Rivera) Sanchez. She had resided in Meriden since 1989 and was a member of Roca de Salvacion Church. Besides her husband of 38 years, she is survived by two daughters; Glorymar Ramos and her husband Ozzie and Gladys Roman and her husband Christian, all of Meriden, two sons; Jose L. Velazquez and his wife Veronica of Florida, and Jose E. Velazquez, Jr. and his wife Maritza of California and eleven grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters; Aurea Gerena of New Britain and Justa Gerena of PR., a brother; Epifanio Gerena of NY and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, Funeral service will held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at10:00 a.m. at Roca de Salvacion Church, 215 West Main St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial will follow.
