Bernice (Perlroth) Friedman, 91, of Wallingford, formerly of Meriden, wife of the late Jack M. Friedman, died on Sunday December 28, 2014 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. Born in New Haven, CT on June 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Abraham and Dina (Kaufman) Perlroth, she had resided in Meriden for most of her life. Bernice attended New Haven schools and was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and Collegiate Business School. She co-owned Friedman Variety Store and later Broadview Grill with her late husband. She was a member of the Congregation B’Nai Abraham and a past member of the Hadassah and Sisterhood. She enjoyed helping others, music and shopping. She also cherished visits with her daughters dog Dava. She is survived by a daughter, Arlene Friedman of Meriden, a son Jeffrey and his wife Gail Friedman of Surry, NH, a grandson Jaimes Friedman of Surry, NH, and a brother, Jordan and his wife Elaine Perlroth of Avon, CT. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Tuesday (today), December 30, 2014 at 1 pm at the B’Nai Abraham Cemetery, 114 Corrigan Avenue, Meriden with Rabbi Michael Kohn officiating.
