Hilda (Panciera) Moratti, 97, wife of the late Jerry Moratti, died on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Born in Meriden on December 13, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Guisto and Maria (Fontanella) Panciera. She was a lifelong Meriden resident and had attended local schools. She was employed by International Silver Company and Miller Johnson Company prior to her retirement. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mrs. Moratti was an avid painter and loved to cook for her family. She was a woman of great faith. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Kozakiewicz and her husband Joseph of Trumbull and Carolyn Wanat of Meriden; five grandchildren, Todd Wanat and his wife Monica, Ryan Wanat, Alyssa Anderson and her husband James, and Lee and Annie Kozakiewicz; one great-grandson, Aiden Anderson and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David Moratti; three sisters, Jennie Fontanella, Maria Parente and Lena Gendron; two brothers, George and Bruno Panciera and a son-in-law, David Wanat. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 9:45 from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, and at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm. Should friends desire, contributions in her name may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
