Clara (Martinell) Shucosky, wife of the late Joseph Shucosky, passed away on December 1, 2014. Born in Nanticoke, PA on March 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Francholi) Martinell. She moved to Conneticut in 1953 and resided in Meriden for most of her life. She loved gardening and doing jig saw puzzles. She worked at Insilco Company as a solderer. Mrs. Shucosky was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Patzke and her husband Thomas; two granddaughters, Cheryl Vehs of Newington and Kathleen Kuba and her husband Thomas of Milford; one great granddaughter, Emily Kuba and two brothers, Frank Martinell of Meriden and Ralph Martinell and his wife Dorothy of Murrieta, CA. She was predeceased by four brothers, Louis, John, George and Fred Martinell and three sisters, Rose Siarkowski, Laura Matzoni, and Esther Martin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854-2328.
