Mary Virginia Collins, 86, wife of Hugh G. Collins died on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at home. Born in New York, NY on July 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Susan (Willoughby) Balletti. Mrs. Collins resided in Meriden for the past forty-four years. She was employed by CBS Network and then raised four children. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church. Mrs. Collins enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Besides her husband, Hugh, she is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Ciullo and her husband Joseph, Virginia McNamara and her husband Robert and Carol DeMarco and her husband Ronald; one son, Stuart H. Collins and his wife Mary and eight grandchildren, Jennifer, J. Anthony, Christopher, Connor, Colin, Jacqueline, Jack and Catherine. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Mary Church, 5 Sherman Place, Meriden. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854-2328.
