Ralph A. Urquizu, 77, of South Meriden, husband of fifty-three years of Muriel (Deno) Urquizu, died on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Midstate Medical Center. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on February 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Jose and Rose (Corsino) Urquizu. He had resided in Meriden for the past seventy years. He attended local schools and graduated from Wilcox Technical School. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for some forty-four years as a Draftsman Engineer before retiring in 1999. Mr. Urquizu was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army Reserves. Besides his wife Muriel, he is survived by one daughter, Melinda Urquizu of Bristol and two sons, Robert Urquizu of Wallingford and Richard Urquizu of Vernon. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service with Military Honors to be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum.
