Walter A. Camp, 85, of Meriden, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 31, 2014. Walt leaves behind his beloved partner of many years, Andrea Sweeny; daughter, Donna Gaffney; son, Walter P. Camp and his wife, Lynn; grandchildren, Kimberly Camp and her husband Owen dos Santos, Kara Levenduski and her husband Dave, and Katherine Hunn of Laguna Niguel, CA.; great-grandchildren Kayli, Mikah and Alyssa Levenduski, and Claire and Andrew Hunn; Timothy’s son Devin Gaffney, and several nieces and nephews. Walt was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Margery Lord; his brother, Francis Camp; and his son-in-law, Timothy Gaffney. Son of Jenny Camp, Walt grew up in Wallingford, CT, and was employed by Wallace Silversmiths as a silver spinner. After retiring, he was quite active and connected to living a full life, in touch with family and friends. He remained young and involved, playing golf and traveling. Walt and Andrea enjoyed many international vacations, including trips to Europe, China, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Scandinavia and Panama. They resided in Florida during winter months and in Meriden and Rhode Island in the summers. He was a member of the Meriden Elks Lodge. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday Nov. 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Meriden Lions Club, P.O.
