Rafael Traverso, 75, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Midstate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on August 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Juan and Concepcion (Rivera) Traverso. Mr. Traverso was employed by General Motors for many years and Hunter’s Ambulance until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. He is survived by his longtime friend and mother of his children, Rosa I. Muñiz; one daughter, Rosa M. Pagan and her partner, Lionel Andujar; three sons, Rafael A. Traverso, Edgar Traverso and his wife, Jennifer and David Traverso and his wife, Rosy Santiago; six grandchildren, Noel, Ricky and Nia Pagan, Deanna Donelli, and Eboni and Ian Traverso. He is also survived by four sisters, Mercedes Vicenty, Ramonita Traverso and her husband Willie Vazquez and Camila Lorenzo and her husband Luis; two brothers, Pedro Traverso and his wife Peggy and Johnny Traverso and his wife Marta, and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by eight siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center Street, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 5 pm to 8 pm.
