Sylvio J. Milliard, 72, husband of Shirley Dyer Milliard passed away on September 16, 2014 at the Meriden Center after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. Born in Connors, New Brunswick Canada on July 9, 1941, he was the son of the late Leon and Marie Rose Milliard Tobin. Sylvio resided in Connors, New Brunswick and Meriden, CT for most of his life. He attended schools in Canada and was employed by Pratt & Whitney before retiring. Mr. Milliard was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church. Sylvio enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener. He was an amazing grandfather and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Sylvio is survived by three daughters, Sherrie Wotkowicz and her husband Joe, Dorothy Sage and Barbara Trudeau and her husband Paul; two sons, Earle Francks and his wife Cindy and Robert Francks and his wife Sue; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Dina Thibodeau and her husband Marius; and two brothers, Michael Tobin and his wife Nathalie and Edward Tobin Jr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Sylvio was predeceased by his step-father, Edward Tobin Sr.; two brothers, Lionel and Clarence Milliard; and a sister, Gertrude Plourde. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Church. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 on Sunday, Sept. 21st from 2 to 5 p.m.
