John “Jack” M. Fuschino,79, of Meriden, husband of the late Catherine (Thorakos) Fuschino, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Born in Hamden, CT on March 22, 1935, son of the late Frank and Florence (Cooke) Fuschino, he had resided in Philadelphia, Cheshire and Florida most of his life until moving to Meriden some five years ago. Mr. Fuschino was employed by Coca Cola for a number of years before his retirement. More recently, he volunteered at Midstate Medical Center and worked with the Durham Bus Company. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the United States Air Force. He is survived by his beloved dog Mitzi; four sons, Frank Fuschino and his wife Lynn of Cromwell, Douglas Fuschino and his wife Carmen of Meriden, John Fuschino Jr. and his wife Kathy of Rome, PA. and Christopher Fuschino and his wife Pamela of Meriden; two stepdaughters, Gigi and Lisa, both of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters; one brother and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Marioni of Hamden. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be private.
