James E. Beegan, 83, husband of Sharon Eiche Beegan died on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Apple Rehab Coccomo. Born in Hartford on April 10, 1931, he was the son of the late James and Mary Fallon Beegan. James had resided in Meriden for most of his life. He graduated from Hall High School in West Hartford. Mr. Beegan was employed by the State of CT Department of Transportation before retiring in 1988 and also worked for Kamen’s Ambulance. James was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Navy. Mr. Beegan was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church and he was a former Vice-President and President of the St. Joseph Church Council. James was an avid Red Sox fan. Mr. Beegan is survived by two sons, Kevin Beegan and his wife Jennifer of Meriden and Timothy Beegan and his wife Eileen of Southington and beloved granddog Fenway; three grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Brian and James Beegan; three great-grandchildren, Kevin III, Baylee and Alizae Beegan; three step grandchildren, Michael, Tyler and Dalton Kamens; and a brother, John Beegan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Guest Beegan; a sister, Marie Beegan Johnson; and a brother, William Beegan. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial with military honors will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E.
