Philip F. L’Heureux of Palm Beach, FL., and Boston, MA, formerly of Meriden, CT, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Boston after a brief illness. Born in Meriden, CT, he was the son of the late Philip and Ernestine (Minery) L’Heureux. He had resided in Palm Beach for the past thirteen years. He was a graduate of Platt High School, received a bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University and a master’s degree from RPI and Harvard. Mr. L’Heureux was employed by the former Connecticut Bank and Trust, was a Group Executive for Bank of New England in Boston and was a Global Executive with IBM, Ernst & Young and Unisys. Mr. L’Heureux was an outstanding athlete in the City of Meriden and was named to the Platt High School Hall of Fame. He traveled the World and enjoyed the many cultures. He was an avid Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, UConn and Notre Dame fan. He is survived by his longtime partner, Tara Gear; one daughter, Michelle Baker and her husband Peter of Meriden; one son, Philip L’Heureux and his wife Kelly of Meriden; three grandchildren, Luke L’Heureux, Jake L’Heureux Baker and Zack Baker, all of Meriden; two sisters, Lynn Karsky and her husband Kim of Meriden and Kathy Reidy and her husband Tom of Old Saybrook. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and by many special friendships. He was predeceased by a son, Louis of Meriden and by his grandson, Noah. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 10:15 am from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450 and at 11 am at St. Mary Church, 5 Sherman Place, Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm. Special thanks to Dr. Brian Cohen and the caring staff at the Tufts Medical Center.
