James T. Cassidy, 78, husband of Rose Macri Cassidy, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Westfield Care & Rehab after a brief illness.
Born in Bridgeport, on June 30, 1936, he is the son of the late William and Mary (Swift) Cassidy. He was a lifelong Meriden resident and attended local schools including Wilcox Tech where he was captain of the Basketball team.
Mr. Cassidy was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of Southington for over 37 years until his retirement in 1992.
Besides his wife Rose of 56 years, he is survived by three sons, James J. Cassidy of Middlefield and David A. and Marc P. Cassidy both of Middletown, and four grandchildren Tyler, Conner, Ryan and Chelsea. He is also survived by a sister Maryanne Cassidy of Meriden, two sisters in law, Elizabeth Donohue of Middlefield and Paula Scarfo Cassidy of Middletown and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his five brothers.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Thursday, December 5th from 4 to 7 p.m.
