Marcia Gerace, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at her home.
Marcia was born in Meriden June 12, 1947, a daughter of Raymond Parmentier of Meriden, residing in Virginia, and the late Marilyn (Salt) Parmentier. She attended Maloney High School, graduating in 1965, and also attended Lowell College. Marcia was employed by the Record-Journal and MidState Medical Center. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Meriden. Marcia was a woman umpire for the MASA Mens Softball League; and was a member of the Quarter Century Club at the Record-Journal.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn (Gerace) VanLinter; a son, Billy Gerace, Jr.; two granddaughters, Ashley Gerace and Kaitlyn VanLinter; a sister, Leslie Parmentier; a brother, Michael Parmentier and sister-in-law, Gail Parmentier; two nephews, Kyle Parmentier and Christopher Parmentier; and her beloved pets, Lilly and Kitty.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held Saturday, Nov. 30, at 12 p.m. Mass at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Gifts may be made in her memory to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
