MERIDEN GLORIA GUIDACE MORIN LAQUERRE
Gloria Guidace Morin La Querre, 91, wife of Raoul E. LaQuerre, died on September 16, 2013. She was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Nesci) Guidace.
Gloria was educated in Meriden schools and graduated from Meriden High School, Class of 1940. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Teachers College of Connecticut, New Britain, (now Central Ct. State University) in 1944. She taught school in Southington for twelve years and in Meriden for twenty-three years.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was a lifetime member of the State of Connecticut Retired Teachers Association and the New Haven County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Castle Craig AARP Association, a former member of the Connecticut Education Association, the National Education Association, the Meriden Women’s Club, Golden Kiwanis, Friends of the Library, and Trips and Towns Clubs. She was an avid traveler with trips around the United States, Europe and the Caribbean Islands.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Martha-Jo and her husband Warren Bellamy; three grandchildren, Kristen, Molly and Wrenn Bellamy; a sister, Anne and her husband Gino DePrimo, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ray Morin.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden on Thursday morning prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, it was Gloria’s wish that memorial contributions in her name be sent to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
